Client Interaction & Communication
- Act as a technical lead during high-pressure client engagements, providing clear updates, calm direction, and confidence throughout.
- Translate technical threat data into plain-English insights and recommendations.
- Provide structured situation reports and final incident reports tailored to stakeholder needs.
Innovation & Improvement
- Contribute to the development of in-house tooling, detection logic (YARA, Sigma, Snort), and response playbooks.
- Share insights with the wider team to inform detection tuning and threat intelligence development.
- Continuously refine our incident response methodology to reflect evolving threats and client needs.
Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration
- Actively mentor junior team members through shadowing, feedback, and knowledge transfer during live engagements.
- Deliver internal training sessions and workshops to uplift team capabilities in digital forensics, threat hunting, and incident containment.
- Contribute to cross-functional retrospectives post-incident to capture lessons learned and drive process improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architect, implement, and maintain security controls in AWS and Azure across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
- Perform cloud threat modelling, misconfiguration assessments, and risk analysis.
- Enforce least privilege access by auditing and securing IAM roles, RBAC, and policy configurations.
- Monitor and tune cloud-native security tools such as AWS GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Azure Monitor, and Defender for Cloud.
- Collaborate with DevOps to embed security into CI/CD pipelines, IaC templates, and application lifecycles.
- Investigate and respond to cloud-specific incidents, including unauthorised access, data exfiltration attempts, or misconfiguration alerts.
- Support clients with compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and NIST in cloud environments.
Nice to Have
- Automation skills using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Understanding of Zero Trust principles in cloud-native designs.
- Certifications such as CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft SC-100, or CCSP.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience in cloud security engineering.
- In-depth expertise with AWS and Azure security services (e.g., IAM, KMS, Security Groups, Sentinel, WAF).
- Familiarity with network security principles in the cloud — including VPCs, VPNs, Private Link, and segmentation.
- Strong understanding of serverless security (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) and Kubernetes/container security.
- Experience with cloud SIEM integration and monitoring platforms.
- Ability to translate cloud security risks into practical mitigation strategies.
